ADJOURNS WITHOUT ENACTING NEW GUN CONTROL
In this issue
...
1. REPORT: All
gun bills died.
2. ACTION ALERT:
We invite your calls of "thanks" to some pro-gun friends
for their efforts on our behalf during the session.
3. LAST CALL
for tix on MPFO's latest 2x.22 rifle raffle.

1.
REPORT: 2005 session concludes on up note for gun owners.
Last night at midnight
the legislature adjourned "sine die", or "without
time" remaining. It's over! Gun control bills - whether the assault
weapon
ban, lost-stolen gun reporting obligation and more - remained bottled
up.
Sadly, so did the repeal of ballistic fingerprinting which we wanted.
More
analysis on how this played out in the next Tripwire, but for now, let's
remember: there were years past when nothing happening would have been
an
outcome beyond our wildest dreams. Let's enjoy it while we can.
2. ACTION ALERT:
Tell our friends "thanks" for their service!
Please take
a moment to let some pro-gun Senators and Delegates know how
much we appreciate their efforts on our behalf. This will only
take a few
moments of your time in the next few days, and not only is it appropriate
for us to do, it will continue to telegraph our active involvement in
the
political process to those who need to know we'll be there for them
next
election. (All extensions listed below can be dialed toll free at either
410 841 xxxx or 301 858 xxxx.)
Senator David Brinkley
3704
Senator Alex Mooney 3575
Senator Philip Jimeno 3658
Senator Norman Stone 3587
Senator Nancy Jacobs 3158
Senator Roy Dyson 3673
Senator Kathy Klausmeier 3620
Senator E. J. Pipkin 3639
Senator Richard Colburn 3590
Senator Janet Greenip 3568
Delegate Warren
Miller 3556

Delegate Joseph Boteler 3365
Delegate Charles Boutin 3289
Delegate Mary Conroy 3098
Delegate Donald H. Dwyer 3047
Delegate Tony Fulton 3030
Delegate Rick Impallaria 3334
Delegate Kevin Kelly 3404
Delegate Susan Krebs 3200
Delegate Pat McDonough 3334
Delegate Robert McKee 3447
Delegate LeRoy Myers 3435
Delegate Tony O'Donnell 3314
Delegate Joanne Parrott 3289
Delegate Michael Weir 3328
Your message can
be very simple: "The Tripwire Newsletter reports your
service to the firearm community during session. I'm just calling to
say
thank you to the Delegate/Senator." (Note, surely there are others
in the
legislature worthy of our thanks too, but the above list identifies
those
who sponsored bills we liked or who fought for us in specific ways.)

LAST CALL FOR MPFO'S
SPRING FUND RAISER! Get it in the mail this week ...
MPFO's latest fund
raiser is a two-fer ... It gets us back to our roots, in
arming you with the tools to recruit folks to our side the best way
possible,
at the range learning about the fun of sight alignment and trigger control.
Demand for these
has been great since our recent announcement. The first fund
raiser features a HENRY GOLDEN BOY lever action .22, donated by Henry
Repeating
Arms. It's a genuine classic, whose accuracy, balance and craftsmanship
will
capture the imagination of anyone who grew up on a diet of frontier
adventure
tales.
The second is a
modern classic, FULTON ARMORY's DEDICATED .22 AR-15 rifle.
Forget adaptors and conversion kits - this unit is set up to give you
the
most in accuracy with fast action shooting to boot.
Each prize package
comes with extra sets of eye and ear protection, to make
it easier for you to bring neighbors, friends and kids to the range.
Let's
get our next generation of patriots introduced to what our issue is
really
all about!
Tickets for each
rifle are sold separately, each going for a $5 donation to
MPFO, so let us know with your order which tickets you'd like. Send
your
most generous donation (check written to MPFO) to:
MPFO c/o Mike Fleisher, Treasurer
11704 Enid Dr
Potomac MD 20854-3451
(Include a SASE for return of ticket stubs, or Mike will mark your ticket
numbers on your check as receipt. If you don't indicate a preference
for
rifle, then we'll send you whichever we have most tickets for at the
time.)
Marylanders for
the Preservation of Firearms Ownership is the *only* political
action committee in Maryland dedicated to our Second Amendment -- and
of course
the reason gunowners outside of Maryland care is that gun control we
can stop
here won't come to you in your state. Historically Maryland is the front
line
in defense against oppressive gun control, where whacky ideas are test
driven
before they go on the road nationally. Stop bad legislation while it's
cheap!

about this fund raiser are at www.myguns.net
