--no new taxes in maryland add slots for stupid gamblers

--This email is my official signature on the No-New-Taxes Roll of Honor(er common sense).

--No new taxes, period. Curb the spending. That's what we tax payers do.

--Classification: UNCLASSIFIED
--Caveats: NONE
Do not implement any new taxes of any kind. That includes business, income, property, death and sales taxes as well as no taxes disguised as fees, charges or assessments. We are largely a welfare state as it is. Taxing is never the answer. I'm tired of MDs liberal agendas; keep your hands off my money.

--NO NEW TAXES IN MARYLAND!!!
AND STOP SPENDING THE SURPLUS SO YOU CAN LIE AND TELL THE MARYLAND PEOPLE WE NEED MONEY!!! Stop now!!! I mean no new Republican taxes, and no new Democratic taxes. You are chasing people out of our state. Be a good American and make our State what it used to be....

--I am writing you concerning the proposed tax increases proposed for the residents of the state of Maryland. No tax increases are necessary because Maryland does not have a revenue problem, but rather Maryland has a spending problem which is the result of Maryland's fiscally irresponsible policies.
The current so called "structural deficit" is nothing more than Maryland's plan to spend more money than it anticipates will be available to spend. The fiscally responsible approach would be to cut back on spending and live within one's means. Fiscal Conservatives have offered an alternative to the Governor's proposed massive tax increases. If growth is kept to about 3% and some responsibility is gradually shifted back to the counties or slots are added, the structural deficit no longer exists.
These matters should be worked out in a regular session. We have a balanced budget through June 30, 2007. If there were some real fiscal emergency that needed to be addressed, it could be done in the January through April 2008 regular Session when the public, press and legislators all have a full opportunity to participate in the debate and to go through the process.
I urge you to vote against unnecessary tax increases, and to work against their passage and to speak against them on the floor of the House of Delegates. The Governor's plan for slots referendum forces slots locations on jurisdictions that may oppose the idea. This plan also fails to adequately protect the future of our equine industry and most importantly, if we vote for slots during this special session by referendum or as a bill, we are effectively enabling the passage of the largest tax increase in Maryland's history. I ask that you not support a slots referendum during this Special Session.

"Maryland state government moves slowly….except when it comes to passing tax increases"

--Record me as opposing any increase in taxes and any special secession designed to raise taxes. CUT SPENDING, as I have to do if my income exceeds what I want to buy!
It is apparent to me that this administration is going to drive people and businesses away from Maryland. I urge you to limit spending and not implement any new taxes of any kind. That includes business, income, property, death and sales taxes as well as no taxes disguised as fees, charges or assessments. We are largely a welfare state as it is. Taxing is never the answer. I suggest you dig deeper to find a solution to balancing the budget and not destroy this state.
I'm asking to not raise any existing taxes or fees in Maryland. We already pay more than necessary to run a responsible government in Maryland. I see people locating and moving to other states as a result of costs to purchase and live in Maryland.
In a time when many people in this state are going bankrupt or just barely hanging on because of rising interest rates and declining real estate market, you are spending more and expect those same struggling people to PAY for your irresponsibility?
STOP THE SPENDING FLOOD!
NO NEW TAXES!

--NO NEW TAXES IN MARYLAND

--If con is the opposite of pro, is Congress the opposite of progress?

--No new or even any old taxes increased!!!! Stop spending ...cuts. CUT ALL EXISTING PROGRAMS !!!! Stop spending - cut everything !!!!!! No taxes.

-- Absolutely! Please list my husband's name also. He is also against new taxes. We are a STRUGGLING family of 4 that has cut back every where possible in our personal budget and we are working longer hours to bring more money into our family which impacts our family time together. We EXPECT our state government to experience the same cut backs rather than increasing taxes.
Thank you for the work that you do. I learned of your organization on WBAL this week.

-No New Taxes of any kind!!! Stop Government WASTE!!! Stop unconstitutional SPENDING!!! Cut non-governmental spending!!!

--Please no new taxes, period.... Let's start now balancing our checkbook...plus instead of putting the slots to a referendum why not do the same on TAXES issue...????? Because they (our elected officials) know it will be defeated...

--Stop the spending. I have to in order to meet my household budget so should our Government! There is no reason why the legislature has to meet to solely consider tax increases. Current budget is balanced through July 1, 2008.

--Dear Legislative Members of MD District 14. Now is the time to focus on capitalism and not what Karl Marx wrote about in 1848. There is too much waste and poor decision-making in government. You must stop spending and use taxpayers money which you control for more productive purposes. Government doesn't need more money; it needs to stop spending.

--The voice of the people needs to be heard. Maryland tax payers cannot afford any tax increase. After 34 years in this State I am considering moving out of state if the tax bills are approved. How many more people will join me. Soon you'll be saying, "When the last person leaves Maryland, please turn off the lights." It's sooner than you think. -- Baltimore City resident

---No new taxes,slots or fees!
A voting and registered Democrat.

--Having lived in the fair state of Maryland since 1988, I have experienced the many knives of our state's government. Slowly and sometimes not so slowly, whittling away our paychecks and eating into our savings as surely as the price of gasoline and cigarettes goes up. Soon, at this rate, my family will not be able to afford to live, let alone retire, in the state which we have called home for these many years. Take a moment and consider our future and just say "no more." Find the money through saving, cutting back, streamlining, and disposing of. Rollback those mandated programs which are unfunded, unnecessary, and unconstitutional. Start making Maryland a place where people and businesses want to come, stay, and grow instead of the place they are looking to flee.

--We do not need any new taxes in Maryland. I am sick and tired of these politicians taxing us to death. The government in Maryland does not need any new taxes. THEY NEED TO STOP SPENDING!!!!

--Let's tighten our belts and try to live within our means.

--NO NEW TAXES IN MARYLAND !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!-

--GOVERNOR O'MALLEY NEEDS TO DO HIS JOB, AND LIVE WITHIN HIS MEANS LIKE THE REST OF US.

--Try cutting all of the FAT out of the budget before you increase taxes.

-- I want to be added to the petition to object against this special session. Spending should be changed not more taxes added to an already over taxed state.

--No New Taxes in Maryland!!

-- The problem is not revenue, the problem is spending. In any business or financial organization, when revenue is constrained or shrinking, prudent financial management calls for intelligent spending or finding new sources of revenue. The current administration is looking to the citizens of Maryland to provide additional revenue. I do not want this and do not want my representatives to vote for this increase in either a special session or in the regular session.
In future elections, I will not vote for anyone who supports this tax increase.

--PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE: NO NEW TAXES IN MARYLAND

--If Annapolis needs more money, maybe they should pull their belts in tighter, and spend less. Cut the unneeded programs "pork" out of the State budget!

--"On every question of construction carry ourselves back to the time when the Constitution was adopted, recollect the spirit manifested in the debates and instead of trying what meaning may be squeezed out of the text or invented against it, conform to the probable one in which it was passed." -- Thomas Jefferson (letter to William Johnson, 12 June 1823)

--I am a Registered Democrat in Maryland so I'll have a voice in the Primaries. I will not vote for anyone that supports any new taxes.

--Are you kidding me?
In a time when many people in this state are going bankrupt or just barely hanging on because of rising interest rates and declining real estate market, you are spending more and expect those same struggling people to PAY for your irresponsibility?
STOP THE SPENDING FLOOD!
NO NEW TAXES!

--AND NO MORE OUTRAGEOUSLY EXPENSIVE PUBLIC SCHOOL BUILDING PROJECTS!

--We do not need new taxes in Maryland. What we do need is fiscal responsibility.

--please stop new taxes in Maryland

--NO NEW TAXES

--No new taxes!

--Dear Sirs:
As a widow here in Maryland I think we have had our SHARE OF TAXES. And, I don't want gambling either.
We don't need to increase salaries so much right away just because we have a new democratic Governor.
Thank you,
Respectfully Submitted

--I'm asking to not raise any existing taxes or fees in Maryland. We already pay more than necessary to run a responsible government in Maryland. I see people locating and moving to other states as a result of costs to purchase and live in Maryland.

--We went into this term with a surplus. Now we have a governor that wants to fund everything - and tax everything even more. We already pay way, way, way too many taxes. I'm a senior citizen, and I can't afford this governor!
No slots! No taxes!

--
Dear Legislators:
I petition legislators to limit local and state spending, and get back to core government duties. It's time to limit spending increases to population growth and inflation. All state and local pork must end - - - no more taxpayer-supported riding parks and art centers and steamboats to nowhere and money-losing resorts.

--I fully support 'no new taxes', cut spending to balance the budget.

--I am another concerned citizen of MD!

--It is apparent to me that this administration is going to drive people and businesses away from Maryland. I urge you to limit spending and not implement any new taxes of any kind. --NO NEW TAXES !!!!!

--NO NEW TAXES IN MD, CONTROL YOUR SPENDING FIRST!

--Please add my name to the list of Marylanders who are opposed to new taxes in our state.

--I am against any new taxes in MD, in fact we already pay a higher rate for state and local services than most states. Considering MD is a wealthier state, we ought to have the luxury of getting by with a lower income tax and still raise as much as other states. Cut spending to balance the budget!

--Revenue is NOT the problem! Out of Control SPENDING IS. NO NEW TAXES.

--Please.....no new taxes of any kind in Maryland. That means income taxes....property taxes......death taxes......sales taxes...... and business taxes. Please!
